Prerequisites

Your administrative account should have a administrator role for your domain.

Microsoft 365

The following permissions are requested by Microsoft for Backup for Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace (apps.mspbackups.com):

• Read and write calendars in all mailboxes
• Read all channel messages
• Read and write contacts in your and users' mailboxes
• Read and write files in in your and users' site collections
• Read and write all groups
• Read and write mail in ain your and users' mailboxes
• Read and write items in all site collections
• Read all users' full profiles
• Read and write user files
• Have full control of all site collections
• Read and write items and lists in all site collections
• Read and write items in all site collections
• Read and write managed metadata
• Read and write user profiles
• Sign in and read user profile
• Read and write directory data
• Use Exchange Web Services with full access to your and users' mailboxes

You can change these permissions at https://myapps.microsoft.com.

Google

The following permissions are requested by Google for Backup for Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace:

• Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all your email from Gmail
• Read and write calendars in your and users' mailboxes
• Read and write contacts in in your and users' mailboxes
• View domains related to your users
• Read and write files in attachments
• Read and write all groups
• Access basic account info (See primary Google Account email address, personal info, including any publicly available personal info)
• Read all users' full profiles
• Read and write users' files
• Read and write managed metadata
• Read and write directory data
• Use Google Services with full access to your and users' mailboxes

Accepting these permissions means that you allow this app to use your data as specified in their terms of service and privacy statement. You can change these permissions in Security section at https://myaccount.google.com.

To maintain Contacts data backup after the Google Contacts API deprecation in favor of the People API, perform the following steps:

1. Sign in to https://admin.google.com/ with your super administrator.
2. Click Main Menu (the Hamburger Button on the left side)
3. Select Apps from the menu
4. Click Google Workspace Marketplace Apps
5. Click Apps List
6. Select the MSPBackups app from the app list
7. Under Data Access click Grant Access in order for the MSPBackups app can access Contacts data properly
