Backup Coherence

The following limitations apply to backup plans executed simultaneously.

Multiple image-based backups cannot run simultaneously. On such attempts, only one plan is executed and the rest of the image-based plans are terminated with an error.

You should not expect any issues when running an image-based and a file-level backup plan at the same time, or running a SQL Server and file-level backup simultaneously.

However, avoid executing multiple file-level backups since simultaneous processing of source data can occur.

It is strongly recommended not to back up a SQL Server database with different backup plans; this is required for SQL backup chain consistency. As a workaround, create a hybrid backup if you need to back up a SQL database to multiple destinations at once.

Avoid performing a consistency check on storage that serves as a destination for a currently running backup plan.
